How do I claim and verify my listing?

Take ownership of your listing and display the Verified badge by proving domain ownership.

Updated

Accessing your listing

Find your company's entry in the Directory, open it, and select "Claim". Alternatively, go directly to /claim/<listing>. You'll need to establish control of your organisation's web domain.

Verification methods

Choose one method to prove ownership:

  • Email verification: we send a secret link to an inbox at your domain
  • DNS record: add a TXT record to your root domain
  • Meta tag: place a tag on your homepage
  • Verification file: upload a small file to your website

Verification codes remain valid for 14 days. If yours expires, start the process again.

After verification

Once domain ownership is confirmed, you become the listing's owner and gain editing rights. The Verified badge then appears on your entry.

The badge indicates you control the registered domain. It cannot be purchased, transferred or removed through paid placement. Verification is entirely separate from any Featured or Sponsored positioning your listing may hold, and separate from community votes.

Questions people ask

What does the Verified badge mean?
It means you have proved control of the company's web domain. The badge is not for sale and remains with your listing independently of any paid features or voting.
My verification code has expired. What should I do?
Return to /claim/<listing> and begin the verification process once more. You can choose the same method or select a different one.
Can I verify without access to the domain itself?
No. Verification requires you to control the domain through email, DNS settings, website files or homepage code.
