About Science & Research
File under Science & Research when a product exists to help someone find something out. The catalogue holds the instruments, platforms and datasets of working science: laboratory software, biotech ventures, tools for scholars and collections of open data. Each card records what the product does, who made it and when it first appeared, so you can trace a field's debuts from A to Z.
Cards are shelved newest first by default. Visitors can re-sort by community votes, and votes can never be bought. Use the filters to narrow by subcategory, year or founder. Founders list at /submit: paste the website address, an AI drafts the profile from that site, and you check and edit every field before anything goes live. Each listing gets a single main category, included free.

Science & Research: questions answered
- What belongs in Science & Research?
- Products and businesses whose main purpose is to support discovery: software for experiments, biotech companies, tools used in universities and institutes, and open datasets. If the product is mainly general business software that a lab happens to use, a broader category will probably suit it better.
- How do I choose between Research tools and Academic tools?
- Pick Research tools for products used to run experiments, analyse results or manage lab work. Pick Academic tools for products built around scholarly life, such as writing, citing, teaching and coordinating study. If a card could sit in both, choose the one that describes the daily user.
- How do I get a product listed here?
- Go to /submit, paste your website address and let the AI draft the profile, then check and edit every field. Choose Science & Research or a subcategory as your main category. A free listing waits in a queue of about 6-8 weeks; a paid launch skips that wait.
- Can a product appear in more than one subcategory?
- Every listing has a single main category, chosen at submission and included free. If your product genuinely spans fields, a paid upgrade adds up to 3 more categories for $5, so it can be found on more than one shelf.
- How are listings ordered, and what should I compare?
- Listings appear newest first by default, and you can sort by community votes instead. Votes can never be bought. When comparing, read each card for who the tool is for, what data it accepts or produces, and how open its methods or sources are.
