About Other
Every card catalogue keeps a drawer for items the cataloguer could not place. This is ours. Products and businesses land in Other when their main purpose sits outside the headings we already use, or sits across several of them without leaning to one side.
Treat the drawer as a place to browse sideways. You may find a tool for a trade nobody has indexed yet, a service with no tidy label, or a first release that invents its own genre. Use the filters to narrow by year, then read the cards slowly, because the headline rarely tells you what the thing is for. Where a heading later proves popular, entries can be refiled under it. Until then, Other holds the strays, and it is often where the more unusual debuts turn up.

- What kind of debut belongs in Other?
- Anything whose main purpose does not match an existing heading. Before choosing Other, scan the full category list and ask what a buyer would search for first. If a closer match exists, file it there; if none does, Other is the honest answer.
- Can a listing here also appear in other categories?
- Yes. The main category is included free and is fixed at submission. A paid upgrade, $5, adds up to 3 more categories, so an Other listing can also be filed where its neighbours sit and be found there too.
- In what order do the cards appear?
- Newest first by default, so the latest debuts sit at the front of the drawer. Visitors can re-sort by community votes instead. Votes cannot be purchased by anyone, so that ranking reflects what readers actually chose to back.
- How do I get my product listed in Other?
- Go to /submit and paste in your website address. A draft profile is written from your site, and you check and edit each field before anything goes live. Choose Other as the main category only if nothing else fits.
- How should I judge entries that do not share a purpose?
- Skip feature comparisons and ask what problem each one solves, for whom, and how clearly the card explains it. Open the founder's own site, check what is actually offered, and shortlist by fit with your need rather than by label.
